WHAT IS SPIRITUAL HEALING?

top Spiritual Healing is a complementary therapy and is legal in Great Britain. It is the Healing of Mind, Body, and Soul by means of prayer and meditation and the laying on of hands. This healing can be effected by contact with the patient or by means of Absent or Distant healing. The laying on of hands healing has history as old as Man and over time has had different names and is practised worldwide. The Healer attunes their self as a channel for higher energy, which activates the self-healing power of the patient at all relevant levels of their being.

Spiritual Healing is non-denominational and has been carried out by members of all Religions throughout the Ages and by Humanitarian societies.

All Spiritual Healer's endeavour to provide relief from pain and suffering whether of the mind, body or the soul, to promote the patients well being and encourage self healing capability. Approved Spiritual Healers in the UK work to a code of ethical conduct that has been accepted by doctors and vets and are insured for their practise with the general public. In summary this code provides for-:

Relationship with the Patient, working with other Healthcare Professionals, Guidelines for working in hospitals, Healing and the Law, Treatment of Animals, Healing practice guidelines, and disciplinary procedures.

Healers never claim to cure, will not medically diagnose and work with whatever kind of medical care a doctor or vet has prescribed. Records are confidential between healer and patient. An approved healer is registered with a AHA Association and will provide proof on request of membership and insurance cover. Healing may be of one individual by another, of a group by one person, or of a group by a group, or of one person by a group; or it may be self-induced.

Whilst no guarantee of part or whole of a cure can be given, Spiritual Healing can be beneficial to sufferers of any form of disease or illness. This form of healing is often used to supplement other forms of treatment the patient may be receiving from a General Practitioner. It can help to eliminate pain, to reduce stress and anxiety. Spiritual Healing is also given to animals of all kinds and in general they respond well; healers will often say they are better patients than human beings!

There are no known side effects; however there is very often a feeling of well being experienced during and after treatment and it is well known that many people experience warmth from the hands of the Healer, yet on occasions a healer's hands can radiate a cold but not unpleasant effect. Healing benefits all, providing balancing energies that can stimulate and calm with lasting effect. There are records of some dramatic healings involving complete recovery and/or considerable improvement in patient's conditions. It should be noted, on occasions the symptoms of a patient's condition may be pronounced in the aftermath of healing for a short time due to the effect of healing 'bringing to the surface' the tensions of the complaint.

WHO PRACTISES SPIRITUAL HEALING?

top Any individual so inclined may practice Spiritual Healing, and AHA is established to ensure the public can be satisfied its Healer members are of good character and sufficiently developed and trained to practice effectively and professionally with the general public and animals. All Healers working to AHA standards complete 2 years of training and proving practice before attaining full healer status. Healers in training, work with full healers until they are assessed as qualified. AHA is a member of the Confederation of Healing Organisations that has constituent members throughout the United Kingdom.

Healers treat patients in their own homes, at Churches, dedicated Healing Centres, Hospitals, Hospices, Care Homes, Therapy Centres, animal sanctuary's, and in the patient's own homes.

Recent legislation now permits a Doctor to recommend a Healer to their patient provided that the doctor retains overall responsibility for patient medical care. There are now both Government financed and private Healing Centres in this country where Spiritual Healers and other complementary therapists work with patients advised by doctors.

CAN A SPIRITUAL HEALER CURE ME OF MY ILLNESS?

top Healers will never claim the ability to cure and your recovery cannot be guaranteed, however healing will generally affect your well being positively, and in some cases dramatically. Testimonies to benefits received come from all kinds of complaints, including patients suffering from terminal disease.

MUST A PERSON BE OF CONSENTING AGE TO RECEIVE SPIRITUAL HEALING?

top No. Spiritual Healing is given to persons (and animals) of all ages. However a child under consenting age must have their parents or guardians permission to receive it - and of course they must be already registered with a doctor. Incidentally, children make wonderful responsive patients!

HOW MUCH DOES SPIRITUAL HEALING COST?

top Many healers rely on voluntary donations from the patient to defray costs. Some healers will request expenses only, and some healers practising full time will charge fees. You should ask what convention operates when making enquiries.

I WOULD LIKE HEALING FOR MY ANIMAL/PET. CAN YOU HELP?

top Yes we can. Animals are superb patients as they are so accepting of what is natural. We do expect the owner to have sought the advice of a vet, and if not, recommend that they do so. Healing is complementary to veterinary treatment, not an alternative. However, in an emergency a healer will attend an animal whether or not a vet is currently treating it. Distant healing can also be given to animals as it is to people.

I HAVE TO HAVE FAITH OR BE RELIGIOUS TO GET BENEIFT FROM SPIRITUAL HEALING?

top No is the short answer. Healing can be given successfully to a patient who is agnostic or atheistic. Recipients who do have belief systems often feel that their inner understanding helps the healing process. Believer or not, it helps if you have an open mind and respect for the effort being given. Animals are ideal patients as they naturally accept the flow of healing energies. Healers will never impose their understanding or make belief a pre condition of healing.

I AM TAKING MEDICATION, CAN I STILL RECEIVE HEALING AND BENEFIT FROM IT?

top Yes you can. Spiritual Healing is entirely complementary, working in harmony with both allopathic and alternative medicine.

At no time will you be expected to stop prescribed medication or curtail your sessions with an alternative medical practitioner.

CAN I HAVE A FRIEND OR PARTNER PRESENT DURING THE HEALING SESSION?

top All Healers will want their patients to be relaxed as possible and if you feel the need, for whatever reason, to have a friend, partner or member of family present they will agree the request. Where the healing takes place in public or private session your chosen companion will be given place to observe. If your health condition requires skilled attention the Healer will welcome such support, as this will free them to focus on releasing the healing energies.

CAN I EXPECT A SPIRITUAL HEALER TO RESPECT MY CONFIDENCES?

top Yes you can. Spiritual Healers work to a code of conduct that specifically requires the strictest confidence to be practiced. You can be sure that conversations will remain private and records will be kept according to the provisions of the Data Protection Act. These records can be seen by you at anytime, or may be given you if so required.

HOW CAN I TELL THAT A SPIRITUAL HEALER IS TRAINED TO AHA STANDARDS?

top All Spiritual Healers carry a membership card of the association they belong to, this ID will be produced on request and shows who the member is, the association they belong to, reference to AHA, the period of current membership, and that they are insured to practice.
